Is it really 100% local? No data leaves my Mac?

Yes. Vibe Voice uses WhisperKit, which runs Apple's Neural Engine directly on your Apple Silicon chip. Your audio is processed entirely on-device, never uploaded, never stored on a server, and never shared with anyone. The app works fully offline. No internet connection required after the initial model download.

How accurate is the transcription?

Vibe Voice uses WhisperKit's optimized Whisper model, which delivers 99%+ accuracy for clear English speech. It handles natural speaking pace, filler words, and varied accents well. Accuracy is comparable to cloud services like Otter.ai or Wispr Flow, but everything stays on your Mac.

Does it work in every app?

Yes. Vibe Voice auto-pastes transcribed text wherever your cursor is. Slack, VS Code, Mail, Chrome, Terminal, Notes, Pages, Word. If you can type in it, Vibe Voice works in it. Just press your hotkey, speak, and the text appears.

What Mac do I need?

Vibe Voice requires a Mac with Apple Silicon (M1, M2, M3, or M4) running macOS 14 Sonoma or later. It needs at least 8 GB of RAM and about 200 MB of disk space. Intel Macs are not supported because WhisperKit relies on the Neural Engine found only in Apple Silicon.
